I received my CHL today after sending in the paperwork August 25. I just wanted to let people who had paperwork waiting to be approved know that the wait times have lessened and they should be getting their licenses soon.

I think it only took one month, but it may have been two.

I originally sent my paperwork in at the end of July, but it was returned at the end of August because they said I didn't fill out the employment section correctly. (Since I graduated college in Dec. 2006 I didn't have five full years of work experience so they sent the application back and made me add the years I was in college to come up with five total years.) I then mailed it back to them and received the license yesterday. I don't think they would have started the approval process until I had it filled out correctly, so I think it only took a month to get approved.

thats cool, mine took feb-sept. 2 fingerprint redoos, 1 lost fingerprint card(their end), and over $300, including price for prints, and overnite postage. been carrying for over a week now, and i guess all in all it was worth the hassle. hope things are better in 2013 when i have to renew.
