I know someone here recently had their gun dipped, but I can't find the thread. I'm looking for places that can perform the service. Any recommendations would be welcome.

I read/heard somewhere a while back that there was a black spray product that you could spray on your gun and put in the oven and bake. Supposedly as good as a gun dip? Looked around and cant find anything about it. Anybody?

There are several products. Cerakote, Duracoat and Gun-Kote are the three big ones. Gun-Kote comes in aerosol cans so you don't have to have an airbrush to apply it. Duracoat and Cerakote require an airbrush. Cerakote provides the most durability from what I've read. Guys that coat their guns for combat in the sandbox all use Cerakote because it's the only thing that will take the abuse.
