This morning a group of us went up to 300 acres that I have acess to Near Little Elm to dove hunt. It was about 6.30 when the first deer walked out into the cut corn field that we were hunting in. I watched 3 mature does with fawns feed for about a half a hour. The doves were not there today. Ive hunted this place for the past 15 years never have seen tracks or any sign at all. Im wondering if any of you guys that live up in the Little Elm area ever see any good deer, and if it is worth the time to hunt this part of Denton County.

I've seen does here and there, but never seen a buck. I'll be happy to go look for dove and deer with you though! grin

Ther are plenty of big deer on the other side of 380 North of Providence. I know of one that scored over 180 b&c.

Nope. But not to far from there I think 380 and Preston are in Collin County. Collin dosent have a deer season.

I realize that Collin County doesnt have a deer season, that doesnt mean deer dont live there...I was just referring to where the deer was hit, I dont live to far from there...Sorry for the confusion up

Lots more deer in Denton County now than there used to be. I know of several deer over 170" that were killed in the Aubrey area in the past few years. Granted some of them were poached, but at least the people got caught. I saw one in Aubrey a few years back that wasn't really big but was very freaky. Probably would have been a monster in a few years.

There was a 160" deer and a 170" deer killed just outside of Pilot Point a few years ago. They had a picture of a deer they thought would be in the 190s also.

The Ray Roberts Corp property and the Green Belt are really helping the deer population. I have seen as many as 18 in one bunch in one one of the state parks.

I've seen several does on the Green Belt a year ago and on very nive 10 point at the spill way park one night while fishing.

If I'm not hunting something I must be dead.

x2 I would say that this area is just as good as any in texas when it comes to big bucks, maybe not the populations but definately big bucks.

I live in Corinth just on the other side of Lake Lewisville. Every year we have at least 2 or 3 deer killed right of I35 service road or the highway. Still have undeveloped land of FM2181 and have seen a group of does and few bucks traveling together for the past few years on that land. I've been trying to get access to hunt some of the land but have not had much luck but there is plenty of deer in that area.

These two were on the property I worked at last year between Denton and Argyle. The second one was killed and if I remember correctly was just over 160". Too bad I can't hunt there. It's two miles from my house.

Picture removed.
clowns creep me out.
