I am not sure if I will be able to this weekend. A friend at work just granted me access to it today. His northern border is the Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge. He has a feeder he put out a year ago, but its been out of corn for a little over a month. I am hoping to go up there tomorrow to fill the feeder and put up a game cam.

Welcome to The Forum, both of you. There have been some really great deer taken in Grayson county over the past few years, especially on or near the Hagerman. The good thing about Grayson county, is that it is Archery Only, which is a bad thing for folks that don't archery hunt. If you have access to a good place you have a chance to take a really good buck if you are patient. Good Luck with your hunting.

I live just south of Grayson county and I have seen some really nice looking bucks. In fact there are some great bucksd in both counties, however we don't have any season here in Collin county. If you are willing to sit and wait to see one it should be a nice one. Lots of "trophy "deer are taken around Haggerman.

I live at the corner of Denton, Grayson, Cooke and Collin counties and have seen good deer in all of them. The biggest was a straight up 12 that would go 180" + in Cooke county. The only problem is getting permission to hunt them. If this video works it is of a GIANT 8 point that I seen 3 years ago in Grayson county. There are definetly some big deer in Grayson County.

8 point video

I live in Grayson county and have seen some very big bucks there but since my old wrecked up shoulders won't let me pull a bow anymore I drive 300 miles one way to the panhandle to hunt bucks of similar size.

That is a great buck, it never ceases to amaze me that there are deer like this within an hour and a half of the metromess. Guy on my lease lives just So. of Cedar Creek Lake and had a video of 3 enormous bucks on his property.

There is one little known fact about Graysons bow only hunting.
when riffle season starts you can hunt with a crossbow and most people don't know that.

Yep I knew that. That's what most of the really big bucks are killed with or so I hear.

Hey, sent you an email at work for a treestand. In your price range and good platform width.

I have a buddy who shot a 170 class last year in Grayson Co. I hunted there yesterday for pigs and didn't see squat. Talked to a fireman from Tioga on Tue. Said he had three cars roll over and crash trying to miss hitting the deer last year from HUGE bucks. One was 190 class he said.

You cannot hunt deer on the Lake Ray Roberts corp property. It is legal to hunt hogs on the corp property with a bow, but not during deer season. Which creek is the land you are hunting near? There are some deer around Isle Du Bois creek, but I have seen more around Indian. The 180"+ I talked about earlier was near Indian creek. And the 8 point in the video was on corp property somewhere around the lake.

I hunt on some property that backs up to Buck Creek wma on Robewts. There was a 178" buck killed on our place a few years back. A 13 point with a 20" spread was run over and killed Tuesday just east of Tioga.
I killed a nice 10 pointer on Hagerman several years ago. I've got buddies that have killed nice deer as well.
Largest buck I ever saw was on Hagerman. He was guessed at over 200" by several people.
The rut usually starts in mid November sometime.
