I don’t know about this new Blue Heeler.

He’s not very friendly and he puts up a hell of a fight when I try to put him in the truck.

I take exceptional care of my dogs, they work and are also family companions. However, they would never come close to being actually family. It’s insane to me that people view them as such. I can’t imagine feeling the same way about a dog as I do my actual children.

You dog guys need to join us over in the large bird community. bolt We've had our parrot for 25 years and she was around 20 when we got her. She'll probably be around another 15. Parrot's, McCaw's and the like are serious long term pets and will outlive you and your family.

Thanks,
Rich

Whole lot of difference between a couch potato lab and a working pointer.

I had a pointer that tried to eat the brick off the side of the house.

And there’s a lot of difference between a working lab and a Great Pyrenees that some douche bag has existing in a field to protect goats. Fur in dreadlocks and has to kill to eat other than some Ol Roy that he throws out for it from time to time.

All dogs are not house dogs, contrary to popular belief. Those Pyrenees are doing what they are bred to do.

A donkey would do a better job and I assure you the Great Pyrenees would much rather be inside.

Old bird hunter. Had some great dogs. My last one was one of my best life companions.
Loved them all, loved hunting with them. Loved training them.

They were not couch pets, they were allowed to be what God created them to be. They had wonderful, free lives that most dogs can’t seem to have these days.

I wish some of you guys family members were close enough to differentiate themselves from animals with no souls.

An animal and pet that gets a lot of love and affection as if it were a family member. Still, an animal that I would never spend a fortune to cure or hesitate to bury in the yard after a long and happy life.
