Growing up less than wealthy, in order to have nice things we had to learn to fix up other people’s junk. This example experience has come in handy. Found a listing for this for free…..listed as not working ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/04/full-26444-265746-img_0852.png) Decided to go pick it up. Got it home and started breaking it down for a restoration. Both electric motors started right up and run well. One motor was added by a previous owner. Did a little research and these were made in the 1950’s ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/04/full-26444-265747-img_0860.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/04/full-26444-265748-img_0858.jpeg) I have a bad habit of just jumping in without taking a lot of before pics. I did a little better on the jointer but here are the after pics of the saw. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/04/full-26444-265750-img_0905.jpeg) Now the jointer before…. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/04/full-26444-265751-img_0916.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/04/full-26444-265752-img_0945.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/04/full-26444-265753-img_0937.jpeg) And after…. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/04/full-26444-265755-img_0965.jpeg) [img] https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/04/full-26444-265756-img_0966.jpeg[/img] [img] https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/04/full-26444-265757-img_0967.jpeg[/img] I still have the stand and motor to restore and then I will return the original one motor set up. Once finished, it will be for sale. PM if you are interested.

Dang, now I know where Dad's tools went. I used one of those frequently! And Craftsman was decent stuff then.

that is great stuff! Those tools will last another 100 years now.
I just did a little rehab project on a Craftsman bench vise that I found in the barn a few years ago. It's crazy how much better things were built then.
very nice

Nice work. The woman in the background with her hands on her hips doesn't look happy. She is probably saying...what have you brought home now!

Nice work. The woman in the background with her hands on her hips doesn't look happy. She is probably saying...what have you brought home now! She is actually the person giving it away. And yes…..the old stuff is heavy and good quality!

What, no plastic parts that dry rot and break regardless of care and maintenance? It'll be 2 more generations before another rebuild is needed, not sure anyone will know how though. Nice saw.
