Have to give credit to my friend Brian Wartchow. Anybody who has been to Jackson will recognize this view. Absolutely beautiful picture of the Grand today. Yes Dorothy, this isn't Kansas!!!

Daughter-in-law climbed it for her 40th BD. Carry-in, carry-out. Everything!

My wife did it at 23. Seemed like a waste to me; there wasn't anything to hunt!!

They went on a guided climb. About a mile of bolder field to the actual climb which wasn't too bad. Climbed to the saddle between the 2 peaks but didn't try the 20 ft vertical to the higher peak. Then back down. Just a day hike but they were worn out. I tried Mt. Evans as a kid, didn't make it very far up the loose gravel slope. Years later Dad & I flew into Denver in the Mooney, drove to the top for lunch. Rocks started snapping so we left and road was closed from the snow. The top is flat from lightning strikes.

I'm in eastern Idaho right now and this area is really nice. First trip ever to Idaho and it's definitely hard to beat the view of snow-capped mountains in every direction. But man, did the wind blow today!
