My wife is 3 years into an Etsy embroidery business and has made a nice little side hustle out of the deal. Not sure if it was DOGE or what’s going on, but she has ~50 orders floating in space/bouncing around the US between postal hubs. She has a few lost/misplaced orders each month but it’s like never before now.

Its pitiful- A few of my experiences lately.
Sent a set of custom made parts in a small bubble envelope to SC, package went Jacksboro-FTW-Atlanta- FTW- Memphis- SC. 10 days.

A chamber reamer from Oregon left the shop headed to me on a Monday, sat in a post office five days, then Denver, then Mesquite where it sat for a week, FTW, then to me. 17 days total.

I waited on a box of bottom metal for over 9 days with no scans, then it just showed up.

This started last year with me, way before DOGE, oddly around the Holidays it wasnt too bad.

USPS needs to be shutdown and run by an actual, for profit business. How does a company that looses billions of dollars a year stay in business?

I can only say for this area.
The P.O. 's here are a joke.
The delivery people are illiterate and I get many mis-delivered
letters with the same street number, but obviously not the
correct street name that's often at the far corner of the zip
area. Express mail tossed carelessly at the porch.
I had a package from a supply company make it all the way
from several states away, and end up stuck here at the P.O.
for the zip area. I finally had to get the useless postal
investigator involved and I was told that all packages are
photographed by machine upon receipt at the P.O. and
even though it had been received and photographed, it
couldn't be found anywhere in the building.
They essentially let it drop instead of investigating and
getting someone in trouble for theft like should have been.
I know that if I lost/stole something at my work, I'd be
fired and prosecuted for stealing and would have a hard
time finding a job afterwards
U.S.P.S. needs an industrial strength douche and
to institute a policy of accountability

Last year I purchased an M1 Garand off of the forum. The delivery required a signature. They forged my name and left it on the front porch. I’ll never voluntarily use them again after that.

That’s almost as good as when FedEx delivered a handgun I bought on Gunbroker to the local narcotics anonymous building.

Tax dollars prop them up.

I use UPS or Fed-Ex when given the chance.

USPS is horrible.

I have gotten to where I ask senders not to use USPS.
I’ll pay more to actually get what I order.
I’ve had one package make it from Kentucky to Texas. Three days later it was in Virginia, then another 3 days before it came back to Texas. It took two week for something that should have been here in a couple of days.
The last thing I ordered made it to the local sort center, then disappeared. That one was never found.

Also you have to be careful of other services using what’s called last mile.
It’s where UPS drops loads at the post office. Then the postal carrier is the one that makes the delivery.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.
Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.
