We are doing that today, for the upcoming cruise around the British Isles. It involves the chip in the passport and selfie pictures (and they are not flattering, but Hey, I’m not pretty these days). This should set us up to go ashore in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, though I’m not sure we need it for Ireland. What I don’t know, and haven’t found out yet, is do we need the same thing for France, Holland, and Sweden?

Do any of you know the answer to that?

Seems the cruse line/booking agent, should have that information to ensure that every one is properly taken care of.

We’ll call tomorrow. My wife has handled and arranged all of this trip, and done a fine job, but I need confirmation that everything really is handled. She’s pretty touchy, so I have to be careful with my questions. You guys won’t yell at me. grin

I don’t think there is anything need for France, Holland, or Sweden as they are part of the EU and the UK ETA covers the UK and Ireland.

You should be good to go without the ETA since they're part of the EU. The UK ETA is mainly for the UK and Ireland.

You on the Silver Seas cruise that starts on June 23rd?

Looks like our ETAs for the UK are good for all the UK countries, which includes Northern Ireland. But not Southern Ireland, where we don’t need the ETA. The other countries we’ll visit won’t need that type document till late 2026, if what I’ve read is correct. We’ll confirm tomorrow.

As of now the ETIAS for Europe is not needed until 2026. From my research it has been pushed back again.
