You are good. I don’t hold it against the young guy when five guys pull up and one is a severe, evidently lying idgit.

Evidently he has lost it all over this little incident. I have no sympathy. I feel bad for this kid though. Evidently a good kid, out here just trying to catch some fish and enjoy some good wholesome fun and this bully comes out of nowhere and hops on his boat. Fishing will never be the same for him.

At least he had the wits to record the incident.

For the record he did not lose it all, he is still alive, by the grace of God.

Let’s have a game of count the “bros”.

Guy yea I would have gone back and forth with the dbag. My guess is he wouldn’t get in the boat with a man. If he did we would have found out who was tougher. I’ve been whipped before I healed up just fine.

I am curious, what makes "the kid" soft?

Seriously?

I suppose soft is the best way to look at it. He went from badazz with a camera to basically begging for his life when things got real. Soft it is.

Simply. I’d start with the fact that he claimed to be a kid. He’s 22. If you ain’t a man at 22……

No way I was a man at 22 and yes I could protect myself and harm others at that point. That’s not what being a man is about.

If he has PTSD and all the grief he is getting from the interweb wouldn't be surprising if the Great Captain went out and suck started a Glock! There is a thing called cyber bullying and some don't handle the pressures well. We talk smack to one another but this guy is catching it from every direction. Think he needs help plain and simple.

At 22 if someone threatened you would you cry “bro I’m a kid”? Reflecting back you matured much more since 22 which is okay. But to consider yourself a child at 22 backs what some have said. He is soft.

Being a man means you take care of yourself, your family if you have one. Productive member of society.

My wife’s cousin is 20 and in airborne Ranger training. He’s not a child nor would I call him one.

Let’s not forget who the bad guy is. Not only is he a bully, but he has tarnished the image of our veterans. He brings shame. And at least his associates should have stopped him from pulling such a stunt. It is disgusting.

Probably sleep apnea and hearing loss

Next to impossible to get disability for either.

The loss of ruggedness of the American male appears to be increasingly common with every passing generation. My father’s generation would have beat that captain’s eyes out of his sockets without uttering a word. Prevailing sentiment would be “he had it coming”. When men from my generation suggest that course of action, men from the generation that followed, caution us about how unnecessary violence is. The current generation of young men recommend getting out your phone to prepare for possible violence. Every grown man needs to have the capacity for violence and know how to be violent when checking an A-hole is called for. That is the natural balance of things.

It comes from the education system. This is what happens when a child spends the majority of his formative years in a system/environment that punishes victims the same as as bullies when they protect themselves.

You would have gone back and forth with him about what? About him going too fast or it was another boat that had their lights off and cussed at him? I would have gone back and forth with him as well, but it would have been about the later, that it was another boat he has a beef with, and he is right about that, the boat should have had his lights on. I would not have gone back and forth with him about going too fast, not to someone much older than me, and a vet, and boat full of vets. Once I could see it sunk in and he realized it wasn't me with the lights off, I might have told him he was going too fast, but if he wanted to argue about it I would have let it go.

Probably, bullies like to feel their victims out, and pick people they can get away with pushing people around.

I'm not supporting the crazy guy, but I can see why he boiled over, he wanted to confront a boat he nearly hit that was illegally fishing with their lights off (he started out calm), and it's a snot nose kid in a boat daddy probably bought and he wants to lecture me about driving too fast, and calling me bro.

@bigbob@ftworth, Did you develop sleep apnea and hearing loss due to events during military service?

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

Hearing loss for sure, I had apnea then, but it really wasn't a thing back then. I've seen lots of research that ties it to exposure to jet fuel which was my job then.
