Well supposedly Collector's Firearms is the best one in the WORLD. Goliad has The Best Little Gunshop in Texas.

I’m probably not qualified to name the best but Able’s in Huntsville is a good one. So is Carters Country in the Houston Area.

I’m probably not qualified to name the best but Able’s in Huntsville is a good one. A great selection of both firearms and ammo at great prices for it being an independently owned gun shop. I've routinely purchased ammo there at prices well below those of Academy and even Walmart. Definitely worth the stop when making the drive between Houston and Dallas. Well outside the city and less than a mile West of I-45.

Most gun stores would fit in the corner of Collector's in Houston.

Is Teskey's in Ft Worth worth a stop? I always seem to blow by it and never have time to just duck in.

Is Teskey's in Ft Worth worth a stop? I always seem to blow by it and never have time to just duck in. I stopped in a few years ago when I was looking for a pair of boots. I thought they were high compared to Gibsons and other shops around here. Maybe they have changed it up since. The selection was vast. Gibsons in Weatherford deserves an honorable mention, especially on the used stuff, I have gotten some really solid deals over the years.

Oddly enough, Collectors Firearms Houston just called to inform me that they have opened a new location in Dallas. Just north east of the Galleria.

The nice thing about Collectors is you can handle anything you want without having to ask. I got to handle a $68k 17th century matchlock, it's more a hands on museum. Most things I've bought there have been during their various semiannual sales, otherwise it's a bit steep. They have a nice military surplus collection.

They have guns most shops do not.
Try to find old High Standard ,Colt and Browning .22 Cal pistols, they do.

Not much in my neck of the woods. J&N Feed store in Graham just opened there new 3200 sq foot gun store. It's pretty nice, though ammo prices seem to be manufacture list price. I'd like to find someone local who offers a nice discount. I like Gibson's when I'm in Weatherford. Marksman gun shop in Wichita Falls is fairly nice.
Distance is not the issue, but the winds can make it interesting!
