first off, I know nothing about crossbows, so need to be educated, so pardon my ignorance ...

what model is this (Woodsman plus I am guessing?), draw/pull weight, FPS, details on the scope, etc.? Google hasn't been my friend so far.

Yes this is the Woodsman Plus model.

I'm not an expert either. I contacted Ten Point and they said It is a 165 lb draw and shoots about 280 fps when strung to the 165lbs. They suggested getting new string and cables for it before you do much shooting with it. I know I did that before the last season I used it about 4 years ago. The scope is a standard crosshair model. not illuminated

I got this due to shoulder surgery and it worked out very well for me. I took two deer with it at 20 and 25 yards. I would say it is effective out to 30 yards. I also used it to harpoon two alligators hence the gator getter bolts without the tips.
