When will the bucks start dropping their antlers? I live in Parker County. When is the best time to look for sheds?

Now, this wind knocked them off. Never seen anything like it on our place.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

a few have dropped in Baylor county, some still have them. Give it another couple of weeks and all should be on the ground. I went looking last weekend and only found a couple of older ones, no fresh ones. Gonna give it another go this weekend.

I'm about 2/3-3/4 dropped in Mills county, according to feeder pics. But I do know they've grouped back up some and are ranging, so I may not be seeing the usual split.

They have been dropping off for several weeks here. Only a couple left that are hanging on to them.

Most of my bucks are recent shedders, I believe. But this one young guy is still holding on, wind be damned... I guess he's also a "better to have and not need, than to need and not have" kinda guy too. ![[Linked Image]](https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54395114887_8ca402a8cc_c.jpg)

Found my first shed January 6th this year. My bucks are about 97% shed already. I attribute that to the drought this winter. Virtually no moisture since labor day week. Last year they were just starting to shed.

Almost all done in Menard County at my place. Found these over the past two weekends around feeders / water ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2025/04/full-17663-448917-shed1.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2025/04/full-17663-448918-shed2.jpeg)

It usually starts around late January to March, but it can vary depending on the buck’s health and stress levels. In Parker County, February to early April is probably your best bet for finding sheds.
