Been driving in the metroplex for 30 years and spent a lot of time behind the wheel of a 26' straight truck. I also run a fleet of 25 trucks daily in and out of DFW. I can think of one instance I have been in personally that I'd consider road rage and it was as much my fault as the other persons. Little bit of yelling and a couple birds and I got down the road. It was the end of a long day, I was in a hurry trying to make a pickup and let my stress get the better of me


From experience with the drivers I've had over the years if a guy is regularly coming in with road rage stories his driving and behavior is a big part of the problem. There is absolutely zero reason to flip somebody off or get into it verbally on the highway as nothing constructive will come of it and with the way people are stressed out, doped up or gunned up things can escalate quickly. Best thing you can do when somebody gets crazy is slow down, give them space and let them get down the road.

When I was working plainclothes I merged onto I-30 and never saw the car next to me. He honked, I lowered my window and waved, he stayed behind me until I exited at which time he shot my vehicle. There was zero chance in me catching him at that point and all I could tell was it was a white Crown Vic or Grand Marquis.

I had a similar incident but he was just flipping me the bird and making a gun shape with his hand and fingers. I had several marked support vehicles a hundred yards behind me. He went to jail for weed and I personally revoked his LTC.

I've detailed them in other threads but I've encountered some seriously stupid drivers the last few years running from Lubbock to Goldthwaite and back. I now carry both a handgun and a long gun as I'm not going to be outgunned if someone decides to escalate their problems to that level with me. I hope that never happens but there are too many crazies out there these days.

Its been awhile since I studied sign language but I am pretty sure she was telling you that she thinks you are cute. If she was mad she would have gave you the middle finger.

I drive 33 miles each way to work...the number of people I encounter that are either oblivious or angry as all get out it is just nuts! I need to hook up my dashcam. I come very close to getting hit/run off the road no less than once a day and usually 4 to 5 times. The construction along I-20/I-820/US 287 seems to REALLY bring the anger out! I hate that drive!
