KRoyal is one of the best in the business lol... Texoma legend JD Lyle, Chris Carey, Bannister they are all good. It just depends on how you want to fish for them.

Fishing has been a little slow the last few weeks I’m told. Four seasons guide service is top notch. They are out of grandpappys.

I think our guy is named Brian? Launches by the lighthouse. I can find out if I have really inspired great anticipation. I go once a year. Almost time again...
Pass the gravy.

last time I went my guides boat was broke, he sent us with his flunky, bad experience, small fish. Find a guide who cleans his fish where he docks his boat. Loes high port won't let guides clean their fish there. We had to follow the guide to his house where he cleaned the fish. I second Kyle

I've used this guy and a buddy of mine has fished with him a lot. I would fish with him again. He launches from Big Mineral. https://hookedonrods.com/

Marty Zamora has always put us on fish. A group of old school guides that clean your fish right there with a 15 yard walk. Eat at the Cedar mill restaurant as they clean your fish

Went today with striper express,
Not a bad haul (12 total, conditions weren’t ideal)
Ask for Little Dave as the captain, he’s crazy but good

We did some dock shooting last year. We need to make sure we catch enough for a fish fry that night. So, sandies will be the fall back plan.. They do take a ton of first timers fishing and trolling and chasing schools of SB is usually their catch a limit plan.

I’m sure there are some with etiquette, but I’ve seen dipshiz captains ruin more striper feeds than I care to count by trolling through other boats.

Few years ago I was sitting on a big school when a guide boat comes rolling in full speed then shuts it down and one of his customers proceeded to bounce a 1oz slab off the deck of my boat. They were apologetic but I insisted that they do not cast in my direction again if they cant cast any better than that.

They are trolling and using live bait right now. My buddies dad pulled in a 14 lb er this morning. Topwater will start in 4-5 months. Most guides work live bait due to consistency and ease of use. When booking ask them anout different methods to get what you want!!!

We were casting big swim baits. No trolling Lot of 2-3 pounders, one 5 The bite isn’t like normal large mouth, just one small tick and u gotta set the hook. Definitely prefer ripping lips instead of trolling. Also learned it’s better to have more in your party because you have more lures in the water, tricking the striper into thinking there’s a school of bait fish. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2025/04/full-69876-448852-img_0151.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2025/04/full-69876-448853-img_0153.jpeg)

Decent haul.. should make a good fish fry or three.
