i haven't purchased any more tnt bullets. i have several thousand old rounds of factory ammo in various weights. the cc loads i have are 110gr. not sure if those are even made anymore. they kill fine if i get a good hit on them, which is hard when they're running. i haven't found anything in any caliber or weight that drops them with a poor hit. they might slow down or sit down, but they usually take another shot.

There is no REPLACEMENT FOR SHOT PLACEMENT no matter what magic bullet you shoot !!!

Today was the second time I've seen Remington mention the 300 HAM'R. But I would have expected a little more fanfare to the announcement.

Nice advertising catch phrase but my vote for "Deadliest Mushroom" would go to Nosler partition followed closely by Speer Gold Dot or any of the Wilson Combat bonded bullets. What's your opinion?

Bullets that shed weight as fragments kill faster than high weight retention bullets as long as the base has enough penetration to get to the center of the animal. I think 60-70% base weight retention is ideal for deer/hog size game.

Examples:

A Hornady SST or Nosler Ballistic Tip style bullet kills/incapacitates faster than a bonded or solid copper expanding bullet due to more internal damage and often gives you more margin for shot placement error.

Something I've proven over and over is that a hog shot on the shoulder (lung shot) with the Lehigh 115gr TXC doesn't normally go as far as one shot with the Lehigh 115gr TME. Both kill, but the TXC will incapacitate the animal quicker.

Bonded and solid copper high weight retention expanding bullets have their place and it's killing larger game where deeper penetration is required.

As well it should! .300 Ham’r is the best thing to happen to the AR platform since…well, since the AR platform. And it certainly doesn’t hurt that it is also a stellar round in bolt action as well. My next (third) .300 Ham’r build will probably be on either Encore or Contender platform.

Finished my HD build of this using SMOS GFY receivers and W/C 8" barrel. Hoping to get out and do some T&E with it in the next month or so.

here's a vid that was 'stuck' in my scope from a month ago while it was in for repairs. the kills are in the last set of pics above. there was a guy on my left so i had to cut my sweep short but i still got plenty.

Nice shootin... what was wrong with your scope? The hog hunt I went on last weekend was a bust. I'm going to try a spot-n-stalk outfitter next time. Sitting in a ground blind hoping for the best is not my thing.

scope wouldn't connect with wifi or usb. two friends got the same scope within a week and theirs had the same problem. nvision said there was an issue with the firmware/circuit board(s). when it came back i still had most of my vids. buddy lost all of his.

here's a vid you don't see everyday. stayed in truck until last second because we didn't know if we were going to have to move forward or backward. they split in half but we couldn't see them from ground level until they crossed the turnrow. buddy yelled here they come but no time for shooting stix or video. set the drone to auto pilot, jumped out and started blasting freehand. dropped one in the road and 3 others off camera.

Son-inlaw has a hobby Dj drone but normal camera. Does take really good pics. Unfortunately the trees have grown to obscure most creatures.
