I do not want my daughter (12) to pick up my bad habits. We went to NTSA and shot 22s and 223. She liked it.

Does anyone know where I can get her lessons?

I live in Denton.

Thanks.

Pretty sure Fossil Pointe has instruction for rifles, handguns and shotguns.

Good for you getting her into some kind of training classes. Does she like rifle, pistol or shotgun best?

She has shot 2 22LR rifles, 1 22LF pistol, a 223 bolt action, and a AR-15.

She owns a Garand and an 1903A3. She will not shoot those for a few years. I bought them before she was born.

I want her to start with 22s. They are easy to shoot.

We went shooting for the first time on Sunday.

She wants to shoot a giraffe. I will start small and move up slowly.

Why can’t you teach her how to shoot?

I find, sometimes it's better for someone else to teach family members, especially wives. I did teach my daughter.

OP is close to Fossil Pointe, and I would think it would be a great choice to go and visit, see what they have. They have all disciplines of shooting in one place.

I know my limitations on teaching her and teaching her to shoot is out of my limits.

I will call Fossil Point and NTSA.

I know there was a guy on here that worked with teaching 22s around Valley View. I cannot find his posts.

Smart man here. NEVER try to teach family how to shoot. It usually turns into frustration for both sides. I just teach them the safety parts & little basic & then let a good coach install good habits the 1st time.
