Let’s liven it up in here.

Post a picture of the last animal you killed

[Linked Image]

Forgot how tough south texas deer can be. I don't rifle hunt much anymore but this ranch isn't set up for bow hunting so I dusted off the old .270 to take to a friends for a few days. I shot a nice 10 point the day before and went looking for a cull and one came out about 30 min before sunset. There was a much larger deer inside the feed pen and this deer skirted the pen for about 15 min before finally getting up the courage to jump in the pen. I didn't want him getting into the pen so I lined up and shot him just as he was jumping into the pen.... in hind sight it wasn't the greatest shot scenario. At the shot I saw dust fly and he jumps into the pen and then out of the pen, starts running towards me and then does a hard 90 and starts running down the road and then hits another road and runs out of sight. I had another one racked but the deer didn't offer me another shot. I was kicking myself for not waiting another 10 seconds but I replay in my mind and am thinking there is no way I missed. Go down to the original road he was running down and saw enough blood a child could follow it. Turned the corner where i lost sight of him and he is dead 100 yards up laying in the middle of the road, perfect shot right behind the shoulder.

Thanks! Its a Bergara 6.5 prc. 18 inch barrel. I was going for a shorter gun to put a suppressor on. It's pretty accurate even with the short barrel.

πŸ‘πŸ» I watch a lot of YouTube. I went down a rabbit hole of squirrel hunting videos. These guys in Europe with squirrel feeders and $5000 pellet guns. Pretty cool! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Shot Shaggy the Panhandle Pig recently

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

That's a stud cull buck! I really like his cape too. That dark chocolate on top is really cool! I'd like to see the 10 point you got?

I doubled on these two corn bandits! Ruger 10/22, Tac-Sol threaded barrel, Silencerco Spectre II, iron sights, CCI MiniMag 36gr HP. Range about 4', didn't have to holdover or anything crazy.
