I just order from Atlas Target Works

I bought these from the guy in Sanger years ago, couldn’t remember his screen name. Finally foot around to building something this week. Was just using them for pistols they are .5 inch. First attempt at shooting steel. My go to rifle is a 7 mag, I have seen mixed reviews for distances. Will they hold up to magnum rounds without damage? ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2025/03/full-21444-448137-img_8980.jpeg)

High velocity bullets are what damage targets. Over 3200 fps. High speed .224 and 6mm bullets can eventually penetrative through 1 /2" AR-500.
Those will hold up to 7 Rem Mag at 200 yards, and greater. But I wouldn't hit them too many times.

I have several from the guy in Sanger, fire away you'll be fine. You might want to paint them white or orange to better see them.

Watched a video from TA Targets where they replaced a damaged steel target that was apparently shot with .300 win mag at 100 yards. The target looked like it was hit with a .50 bmg steel penetrator. Either way they replaced the target even though the shot voided the warranty.

300 Yds minimum on is what i go with on mine. I still have to be mindful when shooting really fast cartridges with sturdy bullets. A nosler Partition in the 6.5/300 Wby is a 400 yd minimum.

No sir. That was claimed as a 300 Win Mag at 500 yards.
My steel has been hit with thousands of rounds of Magnum cartridges from 300 to 800 yards.
Steel that is 500 yards and less needs to he 1/2". Beyond 500 yards, 3/8" AR-500 is plenty.

It doesn’t make sense to buy sheets and cut them anymore, if we get a request I just order the gongs and build the stands

There’s a gun shop in Decatur, several places to order from Yup, Warhorse Weaponry. I have them and hit them with 7mm Rem Mag with nothing more than the paint getting knocked off.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

Maybe really light projectiles in the 708 and heavy in the mag, and loaded down, but the math just doesn't seem to be working in my head. Of course, there's data missing.

It's the most powerful round in the world capable of taking down mature white tails at 300 yards
