Took advantage of the kids spring break and took my wife and youngest daughter on her 1st turkey hunting trip. We arrived a few days early in order to locate and brush some blind locations. Made quick work of that and decided to set hog traps and hunt for her axis buck that eluded us the last couple seasons. Pulled all my SD cards and low and behold darn near all the bucks are in still velvet but we still hunted. Didn't see any shooters Thursday, Friday morning or Friday afternoon. So with about an hour or daylight left she leans over and says, "Dad, how bout I shoot one of these does" 15 minutes later one gives us a good broadside shot and she puts a perfectly placed shot right behind the shoulder! My baby took her 1st large game animal!
Now the the final 1st, the rifle. We are blessed to have the opportunity to hunt larger exotics and I wanted a custom 300wsm to replace my factory rifle. Spoke with JG about 8 months ago and started gathering parts. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago and he hands me over a work of art along with boxes of loaded ammo and dope out to 800 yards. I have yet to pulled the trigger of my new rifle and my daughter with the 1st round fired by us drops her 1st axis!
Now before yall drag me through the mud for letting my 13 year old shoot a 300wsm, it was sitting in a weighted tripod with dad holding down a leg. She said it didn't kick much at all lol.
The turkey didn't cooperate today but we have a full season ahead of us!

I love it, the tinted windows are great and there's plenty of room to draw a bow or set up a couple tripods. I think this is the 7'

I doubt that rifle had any felt recoil, my 22-250 has more felt recoil than my 300wm because the barrel on the 22-250 is not threaded.
