Never had the urge and haven't even tried it in states where it is legal and readily available. +1

All these "medical purpose" excuses don't make much sense. I'm not aware that it has been proven to be a cure for anything. Is it just that when someone is high they don't feel the pain, or care that they do? its not to cure, its to keep from have to use the painkillers that big pharma loves for folks to get hooked on.

As far as I know, there is no decent job that will allow it. I would fail an employer’s drug test on marijuana. Besides that, I already gave up alcohol. I like to be sober, and in control. I have done some outrageous things under the influence of alcohol, last thing I need is to start experimenting with substances at age 44.
I get my high off fishing and hunting.

Well, the topic has been beaten to death here and everywhere else.
Personally, I've never known anyone or heard of any instance where someone got stoned on weed and beat their wife and/or kids or started a bar fight that ended up with someone in the hospital or morgue. nobody has So I just can't see the justification for keeping it illegal while allowing alcohol consumption to go pretty much unchecked.
As for the gateway drug argument, that is complete horse excrement. Alcohol is the gateway drug, if such a thing exists.
All that said, I smoked plenty of pot as a youngster. I stopped years ago when my kid was born. I won't say I haven't had any since, but it is rare and in a setting where I'm at no legal risk doing so.

Never...I had no interest when I was younger so why start now.

Interesting stats in this article: The results of these surveys highlighted key behaviors and attitudes: 44.1% of users consume cannabis multiple times daily. 57.8% drive daily. 84.8% drive the same day they consume, with 53% driving within an hour or less. 46.9% believe cannabis does not impair their driving or even improves it. Lots of people smoke it even though it`s not legal thinking they`ll never get caught and then one day they do. A guy at my old job with 35 years of service was walked out yesterday after failing a random piss test. No wonder they call it Dope.

I'd be curious to see the age demographic relative to the answer given. I'll speculate most "nevers" are boomers. Not implying anything negative, it would just be interesting to see.

Nobody risks a 35 year career on something they are not addicted to. I saw some of this as well. It is addictive and will obviously take control of your life. Why else would someone risk it all to do it?

I had my fill when I was a young man. Don't want any part of it. If I ever had a medical need for it, maybe I'd consider it, but only in pill/edible form where the dose could be well regulated. I feel the same. I do not think that it's a problem until it is abused. Like alcohol, I have known MANY abusers.

Tried it once at 15/16 but I couldn’t stand smoking either. I was already a routine alcohol abuser at the time. Tried a “real” drug in my late 20’s and lucky for me I didn’t have the funds to continue on that path. Stopped regular alcohol use/ abuse in my 40’s just before my throat cancer diagnosis. Only thing I’m “addicted” to now are my sleep meds!

Having spent my career working with troubled youths I have tons of stories that says otherwise. In 2009 a kid wanted some weed but didn't have any money he got the bright idea to rob the weed man. Ended up killing him he is still locked up. Have had several kids playing with a gun while high and ended up killing their friend/girlfriend or relative. Most of the kids I delt with had terrible home lives. not saying weed caused their problems but it didn't help their situation.

I won't say I haven't had any since, but it is rare and in a setting where I'm at no legal risk doing so. If it's harmless, why did you try to stop when your son was born? Daughter, I never said it was harmless. I stopped for a few reasons actually. Mainly, legality, and the potential pitfalls that would have come with being caught with any. But also, I was just getting tired of it. I had been considering stopping anyway and that just seemed like as good a time as any to do so. Woke up one day and decided I was done with it, and never really missed it. Like I said, I'm not a prude against it or anything. I might partake in the right circumstances to this day. It's just not a regular part of my life anymore, not for several years. I don't drink either, stopped that a few decades ago. But each to their own, as long as they aren't being hypocritical about it.
