Here comes the rollercoaster. Trump is the master of manipulation. Glad I'm retired with my money in cash.

Crash no, significant dip or overvalued correction, probably.

Warren Buffet did a lot of selling the last few months.

I'm moving in chunks -- I put 3 chunks in over the last month with the downward move, and I've got about 50% of my money market balance left ready to go in if it keeps going down

I’m not looking at my TSP account. It’ll all work out, I ride with Trump!

I agree. It goes up and it goes down. Everything Trumps is reported as doom and gloom anyway. Fear, Fear, Fear is all you hear from the legacy media. I`m still about 50% in the S&P and locked up the rest @ 5.15% for 5 years last month.

I’m in “safe” stuff but not beating inflation. What to do?

My wife took a RMD from her IRA 3 months ago. Gonna put it back in the S&P when it bottoms out. Think it`s time or wait a while??? I personal think we`re gonna see a little more sell off.

I just want to remind everyone who is near or in retirement. If the market drops 20% for example the common thought is "well I will just let it rebound and earn that 20% loss back" - problem is if you do the math to recover a 20% loss does not take a 20% gain to get back to even but rather quite a bit more. On top of that if you are using your investments for income during your retirement then the withdrawals you take while the market is 20% off (in my example) then it makes it even harder to recoup the losses.

I am not saying to abandon stocks totally but to me it makes sense to lower your exposure to risk if you are in or near retirement -

If you have to really worry, then maybe you should not be too invested in the stock market.

This is the exact reason why I put a big chunk in a 5 year MYGA (Multi Year Guaranteed Annuity) in late January. If I had gone with my Edward Jones salespersons advice, I would still be 100% in the market, but I opted to go another direction per my Fidelity fiduciary.

I agree - I have MYGA's at 5% plus and money markets at 4-5% - I will take a fixed and safe rate like these any day

I have had two of my brokers pushing me to increase my International positions this year before this rout. I was very skeptical but they talked me into it. Wow...they have earned their keep. Not only have these investment not fallen with the rest of my portfolio they have appreciated nicely. My US Reality is still doing well also. Its good to be diversified.
