Just picked up a bolt 7.62x39. Need to put something on it without breaking the bank. Should shoot moa out of the box from what they claim but I’d guess it will never see over 100-150 yards. Ideally under 300 since I got a steal on the gun don’t need to offset that on a scope. Will end up suppressed too

I love the old VX-1 2-7. I think anything in that magnification range at your price point will make you a happy man.

I don’t know why 2 on the bottom vs 3 is so relevant but it dang sure is, at least for me. If I could only have a 2-5 vs a 3-9 I’d still choose the 2-5.

That was a thought at it is. Haven’t had to buy a scope in years so all the new options out there can cloud the market. Plus I can’t see anywhere near as well as I once did

I know at 2x I can follow a steady moving deer at 25 yards, on 3x I can’t so well.

I would look more at a 1,2,3 x 10 or 12. The weight and view is negligible but maybe you can zoom some during sight in

I really like my vx3 3.5-10. If you're patient, they usually go on sale $100 off 2x a year.

I’m not in any hurry. So I will and can wait for a deal to come along.

2-7 is a waste unless you’re hunting dangerous game. Get more power for only a negligible weight increase.

I think the vx-3 line is discontinued, they are very cheap at Cabelas right now
