Son in law just called. He’s heading home from a travel trailer visit to us, and going North up 45. He always stops at Buc-ee’s. He shops and his wife pees. Well, at 4ish he stopped there and there was a line out the door of the ladies room. The line was almost to the cash registers. I didn’t ask if it caused a problem with his wife. I really am shocked that Buc-ees didn’t have enough toilets, cause they have a bunch of em.

He said he’d never seen that many cars and people there (the one in Ennis).

All the Buc-ee's we've been to recently have been so crowded that it wasn't worth the frustration of the stop. This is particularly true of the one's we've been to outside of Texas, and there are many now.

Friday and Sunday afternoons are a no go at the Denton location. Lines to get to the pumps is stupid.

No weekends, no holidays and pretty much don’t go when kids are not in school.

Man, I wish you hadn’t asked that. The SiL is ‘poo-averse’ and doesn’t use the TT toilet. The thought of dumping the tanks grosses him out. He can’t bear the thought of it. His wife, our oldest daughter, says she will absolutely use the toilet though. But maybe not today…

I passed that store today at about 2:00 and noticed how crazy full the parking and pumps were.

I avoid them.

Even if the SiL has an issue with fecal matter, he’s really a great guy. It wasn’t till he bought his first RV that I found out about his fear of touching or being near poo. It is a bit odd.

Lines are horrible because of the folks that get gas and then leave their car at the pump while they go in and shop for an hour. Buccee's needs the pump police.

I used to live less than 5 minutes from the Bucees in New Braunfels. Have seen long bathroom lines on many occasions. Holiday weekends were bonkers. Have seen cars 3-4 deep at all 120 gas pumps.

I stopped at the same bucees around 5 tonight on my way home from the ranch. It was super busy. My son and I really like the chicken burritos. Didn't even attempt the bathroom.

Over the last few years, he’s had 2 or 3 small teardrop type Travel trailers, none of which had an inside toilet. He was a big time tri-athlete, so he wanted something very basic that he could take to the competitions. Then, deciding he’d like to be able to stand up in a TT, he got a larger one that had a wet bath. The toilet was a cassette type, where the poo is contained in a smallish plastic removable container. You’d remove the container, take it to wherever the dump was going to happen and empty it. I asked how easy it was to do that, and learned that he was not going to use the toilet at all. Wouldn’t let his wife use it either. Emptying the cassette container was just too darn yucky to contemplate, so his answer to the problem was to not use it. He used one of those free standing toilets where you crap in a plastic bag, then zip lock the bag and dispose of it. Right away I told him he was NOT gonna put the bags in my burn barrel. Not gonna burn his crap bags.

So, the fun part of this is that his wife, our hard headed daughter, is gonna use his new toilet. Absolutely gonna happen, so poo dumping will have to follow. Since I know how he fears it, and since I can be an irritating SOB, I keep bringing the subject up. Yesterday I gave him the present of a brand new dump hose. A nice blue one. Let the fun begin..

And to answer fishdfly, I should have said this came up when he got his first larger RV/TT. And you can bank on his wife never dumping the tanks. I think we learned previously that wives don’t dump those tanks except in dire situations. That is absolutely a husband job. He’s going to have to eventually man up and do the dump. It makes me smile…
