I read that for a while Puerto Rico was making a lot of our meds until the tax breaks we were giving them expired. Then a lot of the pharmaceutical companies moved to China. You'd think we would want to move them back. confused2

Puerto Rico still manufactures a lot of pills. I recall it being the main driver of their economy. As much of the manufacturing moved to China, South Korea, India, I'm betting Trump will try to revitalize the production capacity there as much of it is already in place. Most of your major pharmacuetical companies have facilities in Puerto Rico. We actually manufacture a healthy share of the drugs here in the U.S.A.

I almost paid less for this than you did your truck...it's a 2023 R1T w/ 12k miles on it. (insert middle finger emoji that we so desperately need). You wanted a tariff example and I gave you one bang

Oh and since you and your brother TCD love YouTube so much...watch the video of an R1T racing a Raptor R...yes, it spanks it's donkey.

One the Generator brands we deal with is raising their prices 7.5 % across the board. Even in the COVID times, they only went up 1%.

At this point at least no one will be coming in here to whine about prices going up on items. But if people keep buying then tariffs don’t do much good. Government will make some more on taxes.

American manufacturing won’t have new plants built for some time.

Racing down the street is cool when you're 16 yrs old. Can anyone find a video of a Rivian working side by side an F150, GMC Sierra, or Toyota Tundra out in the oil field, or on a big game hunt somewhere?

I will know Monday, but I’m pretty sure the steel order I made today is going to cost around $1200 more than if I would’ve ordered 3 days ago.

They will shift to non-tariffed nations first(until the democrat hence men known as EPA are neutered) . Two large clothing manufacturers who were very vocal about and against Trumps first term tariffs, spent last few years diversifying out of China, To more trade friendly Asian nations. I found it kind of ironic

I personally don’t care about clothing industry, but parts, machinery, pharma etc need to come back.

Apple is a perfect example they are almost totally dependent on china up until last few years, even then I think majority of iPad are still made in china. 3.6 Trillion dollars that could essentially be shut down via another country

The tariffs should make imports more expensive, this in turn may make the US made items cheaper or more competitive. Many imports have lower prices presently. Right?

Or domestic will make their products more expensive. Sounds great on a net earnings basis but it stokes the inflation issue

25% on the dot almost for 1/4” plate. That second invoice would been $1700 cheaper the week before

Many moons ago I used to buy steel by the truck load for a manufacturing plant.

I wonder what hundred weight(cwt) prices on full sheets of plate is now?

I’ve dropped about $15K for steel on a project the last couple weeks, pretty sure it ticked up a bit. Worth the drive to Oklahoma vs buying from DFW dealers

Klappenbach gets a price indication at time of bid release. Gets another when bid just prior ro to issuance of bid. Final price is determined when loaded. His jobs are in the hundred ton arena. It's an issue.

Aluminum is going up. Not sure the % yet but the first supplier told us 8-10% to start.
