We lived in NO for 7 Mardi Gras celebrations. That was enough for a while. Went back there for 2 more, and I was lucky enough to ride in Bacchus. It was really something, but I never saw the joy of riding a float for year after year like some do. I did take full advantage of saying “show me your…. “. And they did…

Creekrunner said “Let the good times roll”. After we moved to Houston, and the daughters were almost grown, we went back for a Mardi Gras, so the girls could see all the craziness. I took the youngest (about 16) to a daylight parade, and we had a great time. Caught beads and doubloons, and I got her a big beer. She said she couldn’t wait till next year, and I said that we might not come back next year. She said “Maybe YOU won’t”. That’s when I realized that things had changed…
