To inform me that another old friend of ours had passed away. Not a good surprise. The man that passed was one of the 2 guys that I worked with that were Special Agents while I was still in the Customs Patrol (Patrol is now long defunct) on a major case that was one of the first cases under the R.I.C.O statue. He was one of the reasons that helped me become an Agent. Hoping to see the other old bud that helped at the funeral down in the Valley. I feel a lot older today.

I’ve gotten a few calls like that. My high school crowd is getting old, and from the last class reunion (multiple classes ahead and behind mine), the guys I used to look up to (all good athletes with hot girlfriends) were in real bad shape - walkers and oxygen. And, some coworkers from years past are gone. Probably it’s more folks than I even know about.

God's peace to you. We all need to remember that, sometimes, the frail old man you're looking at, in the past, was one of the toughest son-of-a-guns around, doing a job for the good of all of us.

I get together monthly for lunch with the bunch that I graduated with in 1960. It’s a declining crowd.

Found out a couple days ago that another classmate is gone. Class of ‘83 and there were only 13 of us to start!

This past year we lost 6 family and friends. Four younger than me and I’m not quite 60…sobering
