How close or far off was the movie, Blackhawk Down from the interviewed survivors' reality?

surprisingly, very close

I've known a few guys over the years who were there, and had a brief encounter with Mike Durrant as well.

As for the original movie, it really didn't do the story or the book justice, but I'm not sure a 2-hour movie could do that anyway.

I watched the Netflix series and really enjoyed it, but there's still so much to tell about what happened, it left me wanting more.

I landed in the Mog in Dec of 1993 (contractor, Brown & Root). The movie and documentary are spot on what a chit hole that place was. I've been on that beach numerous times.

I have a little something for you guys that want to take a deeper dive into the Black Hawk Down story.

As kry226 said, so much more happened during that event that wasn't covered in the movie. I have a friend who almost lost his life during this battle. He was a member of the Army's 10th Mountain Division, who was sent into rescue those who were trapped within the city. The article below gives credit to members of the 10th for their heroic actions that day, which really hasn't seen much coverage in the past.

I liked the documentary series. Have a good buddy that was an Army Ranger there and he said it was even worse than portrayed on the movie and documentary.

We just finished it last night.

I told my wife, look who was President during that time. And look who was Secretary of Stare during Benghazi.
"13 Hours"

I also told her that politicians have kept the U.S. military from winning. Our military can always win, if the politicians would unhook the leash. The same holds true in Afghanistan. She said thanks for her going to bed mad. She and I both hate U.S. servicemen and women dying, without our military being allowed to finish the job.
