I’m in serious need of some help. Short version of backstory is this….. I bought 6.5 acres with a couple houses in my neighborhood to build some rentals on. There was a guy living in a trailer house on it. After 6 months of letting him live for free I told him he was going to have to at least pay some lot rent. After this he threw nails and homemade caltrops in all my driveways. Had him arrested (for unrelated warrant) and got rid of him. Thought it was over. 8 months later he did it again. Of course, the sheriff can’t/won’t do anything bc I don’t have pictures or video, although I sent them pics of the caltrops and nails he left in his bedroom. Here’s the issue. There’s no electricity out at the road for security cameras. I put up cell cameras, but with the glare of headlights and him driving by throwing them out the window, it doesn’t get clear pictures. I can run an extension cord to one of the driveways. Anyone know of a camera that would work on getting a good pic/video under these conditions?

Hope you get some justice. 'Sounds like he needs a visit by someone just a little rougher than him.

Have you noticed if the solar panel "glaze" over with age or stay clear and shiny?

They didn't come shiny. It's like a matte finish. I've only had mine about 6 months but haven't noticed any glazing. I picked mine up at Costco when they had them on deal...3 cameras for $229.

It's hard for an honest man with a lot to lose to get into the arena with a dirt bag that has nothing to lose and doesn't seem to mind going to jail. He's not going to care a great deal if he gets caught. Tracking his vehicle with an air tag is illegal, even if you tossed in his vehicle while it was parked in a public place. I wouldn't suggest that. Even though it's only a Class A Misd IF you get caught. Knowing when he was headed that way, you may be able to be there hidden when he does it, get his vehicle on video that you're operating manually and claim you were doing random watch over your property trying to catch him.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

You are correct….. I have a lot to lose and he has nothing to lose. I’m extremely capable of handling this guy the way I want to but unfortunately without being self defense I can’t. He’s a coward and has had a couple opportunities around town to do what he says he’s going to do to me, but he takes off when he sees me….. hence the reason he throws nails on my property in the middle of the night……coward.

Everyone has a friend that has a ( FRIEND ). Ask your friend if he could ask his ( FRIEND ) to have a one on one discussion with that person. Some friends just love to have discussions like that with people. That person seems to be a useless worthless piece of sht and I believe just one talking to by the right person would get your point across quite accurately. Yes, I truly believe EVERYONE has a friend like that in their back pocket. Just my HUMBLE OPIONON. It just takes the correct person to put things in Layman's terms to be understood loud and clear.

I feel for your situation. I have to no solution or at least none that should be published on an open public forum.
Unfortunately, this is an issue everywhere. I have dealt with these kinds of people my entire career. Maybe different circumstances but same type of character. The only reason folks like this exist is because decent law abiding people have more to lose.
Good luck. Big Hutch
