I've started lifting a couple days a week but focused on trying to help my running rather than bulking up. I've never had a clue what to do to actually work out and train so follow a training plan on an app that has really helped me.

Do you have office job?

Now I do.

Grew up in the construction trades, a lot of it framing and carpentry. Guys who thought they were in shape because they had a labor job usually weren't. they were conditioned to work but that's not the same as repetition lifts....it's completely different. They loved to talk about how they were in better shape than guys who went to the gym and how they have seen big weightlifters struggle with lifting a fridge, etc....made them feel good about not going to the gym.

Bass fishing.....Look at your average bass fisherman. Denny Brauer looks like 225 lbs of chewed bubble gum. Kevin Van Dam looks like Woody from toy story. I can't tell if your being serious or not referring to bass fishing as excercise.

Bass Fishing a work out? Beats other ways of exercising your right arm, ask Lt. Dan.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

Actually I was being very serious about bass fishing, I am a power fisherman, I need to be standing and casting like a spinner bait or crankbait every throw, I get bored out of my mind working a worm slow.

My right arm has much more muscles, than my left arm. I have always had a large overall frame so I never did any type of weight lifting, I have always been more into staying in shape and muscle toning.

Last few years now I walk alot and ride my bike daily, I try to get in at least 2.5 hours of exercise daily, I have a make shift home gym for this time of year so I can still bike, I have a elepitical machine and a couple of stationary bikes Exercise Machines set up.

I still walk outside daily despite the cold.

Resistance training is really good for bone density as you age. Cardio is more important than weights in my opinion though.

Strength and in shape are two different things.

Any kind of exercise is good for a person.

I am already strong, I want to be in shape and have nice muscle tone.

If I don't exercise daily I feel like I cheated myself

I’m 82. I remember, as a late teen age 120 pound ranch and farm hand, telling some old cowboys that I ate a lot but just couldn’t gain weight. They told me not to worry; that I was going to. I thought they were nuts. They weren’t.

They don’t have the road system in New Mexico like we do here…

It’s a cheap adventure, lots of spring draw dates too. Also OTC units

Im normally the same, but NM requires it. I seared back straps when I got home, It wasn’t bad just tough. If I had 38 degree cooler it would benefit greatly from dry aging. With that said. I cubed it all up and currently subsidizing my Chessies sophisticated pallet, as the family had same opinion about tough. He loves it.

That’s pretty neat, so NM rule is you can’t leave a carcass ?

Game animal, have to take all 4 qts, back straps, tenders and 70% of neck meat. It was long pack out to get in one load. Similar to big mule deer, but head weighs more, been while since I broke 5 miles on pack out

I started back in the gym in October and have been going 4-5 times a week since. My problem was my bloodwork wasn’t ideal. Borderline needed to be on blood pressure medicine. Labs looked terrible. I’m only 41 and I wasn’t ready to be on meds the rest of my life. Change of diet, basically nothing but water to drink and exercise has made a huge difference in how I feel overall. I still basically eat what I want when I want just in moderation. I’m down roughly 20 pounds but I’ve also bulked up a lot on the muscles. Clothes fit better. I call it a win overall. If I got really serious I could probably shed another 20-30. I go back to have labs done in April so I’ll be able to tell you for sure what’s it’s done for me.

Will also say my back pain is minimal now. Shoulder and elbow that would bug me almost daily has gone away. Still hoping the knees and ankles will come around at some point.
