I hated hearing this; always liked the roles he played. I watched A Bridge Too Far just the other night. I forgot how STACKED with talent that flick was, including Hackman.

Now reporting possible involvement of pills, and that maintenance workers hadn't seen them in a couple of weeks. Dog may have been found in a closet.

Right, what I noted early in the thread before anything about pills came out. Sounds like he may have fallen in bathroom and then she took the pill route to join him. Kind of sucks for the dog, sounds like it was found in a closet deceased.

Lots of folks on THF looking for that conspiratorial angle or more sensational payoff, besides a 95yo possibly, just dying and his grief stricken widowed wife wanting to join him. Not the way I or my wife would play it, but to each their own...

I’ve been to a lot of unattended death scenes and a man, woman and dog all dead is pretty unusual.

My theory - he found her in the bathroom after either a suicide or accidental OD, he locked the big dog in the closet so it wouldn’t bite anyone (2 other dogs were running free), and he either fell or died of a heart attack while seeking help as he was found in the mud room with a cane close by. Door was wide open.

CO poisoning I have seen. Some we were too late. Some we hauled out of the structure and were able to save them.

Very plausible theory.

Why would the dog be dead tho?

This theory only works, with the dog, if it had been closeted for many days and died on its own.

If reports are correct (dog found in closet) then it died of dehydration.

Apparently none were found until many days of not being seen or heard from?

There was a dog near her body so I’m wondering if the one in the closet went in it and accidentally closed the door. My lab’s tail would halfway close interior doors from time to time.

Hackman was one of my all time favorite actors. He could play ANY type of role and make it believable. The world lost a huge talent.
