2 probably doesn't make a collection, but I couldn't throw them away. Just call me "Mr. Moneybags," 'cept they're empty. (Alamo no longer exists. ) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2025/02/full-40213-446457-img_20250226_190812.jpg)

I don't think it was Frost. I couldn't keep up with all the mergers way back when. One of the national behemoths probably acquired them.

I have a few of the old zip up bank bags from various institutions.

I used to have one from the wife's grandfather. Might have been from a Donna, TX bank. Heavy zippered canvas bag with a serious lock for the zipper pull. A Boy Scout knife coulda got in it. Gotta another, modern zippered BBVA bag left by a guy on here that bought a Jeep from me. He brought his mother down to help him drive both vehicles back. After we made a deal on here, and I threw in a few extras when he showed up, he wanted to haggle some more. His mom was on my side. He paid what we originally agreed.

Have a box of old Avon cologne bottles I picked up at estate sales with my Mom back in the 80's. They stink like [censored], pretty much no value but I can't toss them for some reason.

Those bags are very cool. And I agree that some of those mergers in the 80s and 90s were hard to keep up with. My Mom retired from Wells Fargo there right near Hollywood Park. It was Norwest prior to that. One of Tom Benson’s many endeavors at the time.

I don't think it was Frost. I couldn't keep up with all the mergers way back when. One of the national behemoths probably acquired them. Back in the late 80’s- early 90’s there were 4 independent banks in San Marcos. 3 were taken over by national banks. Frost bought out State Bank & Trust, where we banked.
