I posted this in the wrong forum, so this is a repeat of what was posted in Upland Hunting
We are looking for a quail lease in the general area around Dickens, Childress, Hemphill counties. We are in the Ft Worth area and trying to keep it under a 5 hr drive. We have a lease near Lubbock and are looking for a second, so we can hunt more often without over pressuring the birds.
A quail only lease for the entire season is preferred, but January/February would work too, as long as it includes all of January. For a quail only full season lease, we are willing to work with the landowner to set aside some deer hunting time for their family.
We do old school boots-on-the-ground hunting, behind good dogs. Restrictions on the use of vehicles and buggies in the pasture is ok, as long as there are sufficient ranch roads to access the interior of the property.
Brush is OK, but we are not looking to hunt in a cedar forest or mesquite too thick to walk through.
We are not about killing limits. Our interest is in getting dogs on birds that have not been over pressured.
Power for a RV is a bonus, but not required.
