Steve and I loaded up and drove to Big Spring to hunt with the Hwy Man. The weather was the on Friday and Saturday morning was the best that we had ever experienced, 17 on Friday with 5-10 mph winds.
We called 12 coyotes and a bobcat on 10 stands. While I love hunting with the Ruger made Marlin Model 94 with iron sights, I am dang sure limited on my shooting range. We did manage to kill a couple of coyotes and let the bobcat walk after he gave us 5 minutes of video, sniffing of the call without any decoy.
Saturday morning, we made the mistake of going to a part of the ranch where there was absolutely zero sign and wasted time making two fruitless stands. We moved back into the same general area where we had success the day before with no success on three stands.
The video will be aired on CARNIVORE and should make a pretty interesting show.
