That`s why you wear a seat belt 100% of the time and never jump off. I drive by feedstores and lumber yards all the time and see forklift operators doing some of the most unsafe / stupidest things and never saw anyone wearing the seat belt. Letting someone ride on the forks over bumpy ground for example. We never fired anyone for tearing up a forklift, but they did have to pass a drug test if the damage was excessive or anyone was hurt.

Yes, not funny.

More of a 'self correcting' problem.

Operator fails to use seat belt and ride it out (safely). Operator decides 'jumping off' is the best thing to do and pays for it with injury or death.

Result of making 'poor decisions' is fewer people to make poor decisions. Problem corrected.

A buddy of mine was head of construction in the Eagle Ford and then later in the Permian and was part of a riff which was a precursor to that company getting sold out. He set up shop here working fence, gates and the like. He was a one man crew and always knew who was responsible if something went wrong.
