Went to buy running boards for the new Ram. Ended up ordering the AMP's. Y'all killin me.
Next in a month is a new tonneau cover. Looking at the Backflip. Are these pretty leak/dust proof? I liked the ARE Solid tonneau cover I had on my Titan cuz it sealed tight against water and dust PLUS it was easy to lock besides the tailgate lock.

i have had two backflips. they arent 100% water tite or dust tite but not bad. they arent very durable though if you open and close it alot it will fall apart. not worth what they cost to me but they allow for taller loads than the hard top ARE and arent hard to remove if need be.

I really like my retrax. Well made with an excellent warranty. Come on out to match tomorrow and you can check it out. It’s the all aluminum non powered one. They do make them powered but the guy talked me out of it.

I have a Backflip on my Ram. It is in NO way dust or waterproof. Granted, I live on a gravel road and kick up some dust, but it does not do a good job of keeping dust and water out. I also don't like that you can't see wen you have it opened. It blocks the entire back window. I don't think dust will be a problem for you in Frisco. The wire "latch" opener failed after a very short time. I could have spent my $1200 in a better place.

I’ve like my BakFlip. Had it for almost 7 years now. 95% dust and rain free. I use the hell out of it. Works for me.

For the money the BakFlip is your best option. Pressure wash the bars a couple times a year!
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect. Some people live an entire lifetime & wonder if they ever made a difference in the world, a veteran doesn't have that problem. Reagan

How did that truck come without running boards? Doesn't it have a factory lift? I think he said it had a 1in “lift.”

BakFlip’s aren’t water or dust proof. There are things you can do to help but you will hate it coming from an ARE. You bought a black truck…the one piece undercover is an option that’s cheaper than the ARE. The Diamondback (while ugly) will be pretty waterproof
The roll ups are next water resistant but even they will let some in. Not that you’d care but they take up some bed room with the canister.
Anytime I got on a gravel road with a back flip, I’d pull over and open the last section…That helped.

Good luck Buzz. You aren’t wrong. The only thing I would add is that not all roll ups require a canister. That’s why I like the revolver Same here. Now way I want to give up the bed space a retrax or canister style uses.

I've had a solid ARE on my 2018 F-150 since it was new. I can take it off in 5 minutes. If I need to carry something I hook up my trailer. I've never had water get in it. A little dust gets in but not bad.
