A friend of mine called wanting to know if I could reload 45-120 his with my 45--70 dies.

Is that possible?

I think in that combination you will run out of thread before seating out far enough in the press for that combo to work.

I have done it, you won’t get the base resized but if your not shooting a full house load you can get a few firings before the base swells to the point you can’t shove it in the chamber.
