They are going to tear down the one in Stephenville by the University and build a new one on the loop. It is over 60 years old. Tarleton want the land to build on.

I figured they weren’t doing so well as they started sending out coupons again.

If it wasn’t for the M&M Blizzards, they could all shut down.

Blizzards have been the only thing keeping them open, for a long time. They arent all closing, so theres hope. If you cant find a Butterfinger blizzard then try Blue Bell Butter Crunch, its about the same.

I've been in a number of them that need to be closed. Dairy Queen has always been inconsistent with both product and service. If I didn't know better I might think Popeye's and DQ were related. I only go for the Blizzard on an infrequent basis.

Meanwhile they have been and are continuing to open Dairy Queen Grill and Chills in various locations around the country. It's just business. It's just Dairy Queen. Life will go on.

The one in Idalou hung on a lot longer than it should have. They built a new Sonic two blocks away a while back, and I think they have a Dixie Dog, a BBQ place, and several other eateries.

My main reason for going is they seem to be the last place you can still get a real malt.

Beer and whiskey, 'cause you can't drink bacon!!

Fast food in general has changed for the worse, in my opinion, with the removal of real grease. RFK Jr is supporting going back to it.

Might not be one near you, but Braums will make you a malt.

If I'm going to sit down and wait to eat it is not going to be at a Dairy Queen - which is pretty much what you have to do as long as it takes them to get your food ready. Loved them growing up but rarely visit anymore.

Shoot. Eat. Repeat.

Some DQs are not so good, the DQ on 281 in Mineral Wells is real good. Give it a try but check the hours, they have different hours than others.

Ate at DQ 1 time in 15 years and that was about a month ago it was in Hillsboro and was ok but I prefer Braum's.
The DQ in Hewitt was closed for a long time due to a rodent problem. reopened but never recovered.

I have found the small town DQ’s are the closest to what they used to be.

If I'm in Mineral wells and have to choose between Dairy Queen and Woody's, there is no decision to be made. It's off to Woody's. I just can't trust DQ as inconsistent as they are.
