I pray that he finds Jesus before he dies and the next pope is a Christian.

I hope his final days are peaceful.

He needs to stay in his lane and worry about the walls around the Vatican and not those around the United States.

Yeah, I was raised Baptist, so...I don't have a whole lotta use for the whole needing an intermediary (and multiple levels of them) between me and God. And, I believe Mary is indeed Holy, but she's suffered enough and doesn't need to help me pray or access God either.

Our new, east coast, Lutheran associate pastor came up with the idea of a candle rack off to the side for folks praying for loved ones. 'Way too Roman Catholic for me. At least there's not a donation box by it.

I've encountered people who stated that Catholics are going to hell. But it wasn't for me to make that decision.

here it often. there are several on the TFF with that belief. glad they aren't making that decision either.

Everyone should be prepared to die as much as is possible.

I believe I will see some Roman Catholics, Pentecostal, etc. in heaven. I think most of them don't believe they'll see me. Exclusivity appeals to some, despite Christ's teachings. 'Same appeal keeps country clubs in business.

I'm Catholic, proud to be, will always be.

I pray for this pope. I do not wish ill-will no him.

However, I wish he would have resigned years ago.

He is NOT a good pope, and he is a leftist, and in my mind, that is not good, even for a man of the cloth.

Addendum: In case you do NOT know this, (many of my Christian friends from other churches believed it) Catholics do NOT pray to the Pope, or to the Virgin Mary. We honor them, but we pray to Jesus and God, our Lord.

I quit caring about the Catholic religion when they survived the pedophile priests. No organization should be so powerful that proven undeniable rampant pedophilia shouldn't dispose of the entire organization...there wasn't near enough folks held accountable for that...it's a line you don't cross in my book. That whole religion could burn to the ground and I wouldn't have a single care about it. I have struggled with how anyone could associate themselves with that whole religion, honestly. I'd be embarrassed to even say I was Catholic. Feed every single person that had anything to do with it in a wood chipper...

Sadly...our education system in the US isn't far behind holding the same accountability in my opinion, which is worth less than you paid for it. Seems every single week we get a new report of some teacher fondling or screwing a child...it's got to stop!

Hating Catholics or should I say, the Catholic religion, is a "religion unto itself."

Many non-Catholics are seeped with it, oozing with criticism.

Thanks to the media and Hollylame, both absolutely hate the Catholic church, lots of people hate Catholicism.

Just look at this topic, ignoring that there is good and bad in every religion, and among atheists.

Addendum: Reading the Catholic hate here is similar to ME being in American Indian forums, and seeing how many of those forum members are always badmouthing white people, ignoring that Indians are not perfect, many are alcoholics and still live in poverty in 2025. It's embarrassing, and many, MANY people in American Indians forums are barely Indian, and are blond with blue eyes.

Funny, I never said I hated the region…I said I didn’t care if it burnt to the ground, big difference. Don’t like our media, don’t like Hollywood and not an atheist…so I missed all your boxes you attempted to paint me in…but I do hate a pedo, feel we should rid the world of all of them. I don’t have any abuse in my background but I’ve seen how it affects people.

FWIW - The left (which this pope has consistently supported and aligned with) wants to normalize pedos. It wouldn’t surprise me if he wanted to call them MAP versus the pedos they are too.
