Impressive customer service!

I bought a new Lamco low and throw January 25th. I didn’t get it set up until February 2nd. This morning I was doing some camera swapping and noticed there wasn’t any corn on the ground and I had only had a couple Spypoint pictures of squirrels. So I popped her open and the timer wouldn’t light up. I disconnected the battery and reinstalled, and still the timer wouldn’t light up. So I brought the battery home with me. Battery measured 3.4 volts, I charged the new battery before installation and yes the solar is facing south 😉

So I emailed customer support with receipts and followed up with a phone call. Originally they offered to send me a new battery and timer. I pointed out the potential problem is the solar panel. So they agreed but going to ship out a new battery, timer and a solar panel today.

That my friends is how you take care of customers! Best part is they are made right here in the good old state of Texas! texas

Two years, I think, for my Lamco low and throw. No problems and coons can’t steal corn. Easy to load corn in it. What’s not to like.

If I read that correctly, it seems it only threw for 16 days....? No way should the battery of been low in that short period of time. Am I missing something? Can a bad solar drain a battery?
Sounds like a bad battery or something besides solar.

Good point, I will probably start with the battery and use a voltmeter to check the original solar.

Thanks

An important thing I learned long ago about feeders is to test the battery under a load. It may show enough volts but hit test and see if it drops down a bunch. It will come back up but shouldnt drop several volts. It may work like that but not consistently or over time.

Are the wires from solar panel connected proper, pos to pos and negative to negative? Seems to be a short somewhere.

Good to hear on the positive customer service. Just finished year 4 with mine and have fortunately had zero issues. But, it’s good to know they will help if needed.

After you get it figured out I bet you will have years of good service from your feeder.

Yes sir, I am almost 61 so this could very well be the last feeder I ever buy!

The-Timer is the one timer that will let you down again & again. And make you sorry you bought several of them at such an inflated price. And, will make you sorry you placed your trust in them.

Platinum II Timer

I have been using these timers since I quit using The-Timer in 2003. It has never not worked.

Now that is funny !! I have pics (and more than once) of 10-12 coons all standing up with paws reached into the slot like a buffet. And not just a few kernels left over on the big plate, but also getting to the spinner plate. I even closed off the bottom spinner plate access hole so they couldn't get in that way.

There are nice to fill up, but don't kid yourself that they are coon proof. I tried reducing the big plate opening by 1/2" but that caused issues with jamming the spinner plate up.

I managed a ranch in Duval County during the 1990's, and if I remember correctly, when I left that job we had around 30 Lamco feeders that threw pellets into troughs. The ability to control time and amount of feed was worth the time investment. And back then they were in El Campo, I can't recall the guys name, but also felt it was an excellent product and excellent customer service. 30 years ain't a bad record.

Using the timers and monitoring feed consumption massively reduced non-targets. We experienced very little racoon pillaging.
