I want my spring weather back. Cold this whole week up in DFW area, Strong Northwinds started blowing around dusk last night. Forecast is looking good the following week, High temps supposed to be in the pushing in the 70's and lows around 50's. Kinda like last year when we started getting early spring weather in late February. Hope forecast doesn't change

I don’t mind temps dipping down into the high teens but when we get into single digits I get more concerned about water lines etc…
Our forecast around Abilene is showing temps down to 9 degrees

It won't get cold enough long enough to be a issue, Wednesday supposed to be full sun that keeps pipes in housing from freezing, in your area.

If it made it thru the Deep Freeze we had in February 2021 then it should be fine. How is it plumbed ?In Copper or PVC? Repipe in PEX and not worry about freeze breaks would be a good option. Or install a couple ball valves and put a fitting to be able to blow out the pipes with compressed air would be a good option.

I have a ball valve to shut off everything to the garden. Everything should be fine with just a little preparation..

I have several above ground outlets at our garden also. I set it up so I can valve in the supply and open the valves at the garden and the one at the downhill flower bed. I put a long garden hose at the lower one and it will completely empty the whole system. If you can't empty the system, leave the valves open so if anything freezes it has room to expand.

I need to find a way to power my pool pump with my generator without doing a whole-house hookup.

I'll go varmint hunting during it. The wind typically has to lay down for it to get that cold. Less wind means more ears to hear my caller.

Gonna be 12 here on Thursday morning. I hope I can avoid a busted pipe or three.

We’re in Florida for the week for my job, I left instructions for the adult kids there, I was met with almost blank stares.

For some reason people think they only need to run the cold side, I never figured out that thought process. But with the cold temp and clouds we are gonna have Wednesday, Thursday could see some freeze breaks in the area if people don't run their facuets

It's starting to blow into Fredericksburg. Might have to splice the mainbrace shortly.

We’re getting it in Missouri, too. Just barely beat it back last night. Dropped from 40 ish degrees to sub-zero overnight, my carrier shut us down today.
Been driving 5 years for them and never had a mandatory shut down. This is the 4th shutdown this year.

The previous owner of my house removed all of the wall mounted outdoor faucets and installed new faucets on risers around the yard. Everything is fed from a single line with a quarter-turn valve with a bleeder well inside the heated space. Being on a slope, the entire system drains completely out the lowest faucet. My 2" lake water irrigation system has the pump at the low point, so I just pull the drain plug on the pump and open the zone valves to drain the whole system.
I am happy he did it because it takes so little effort for me!
