My deceased buddy, Pete, once was bitchin (he did that a lot) that it was now impossible to get lunch for $5. As I bought my Subway Tuna sandwich today for $6.38, with no drink or chips, I remembered what he said. So…

Do any of you think a $5 lunch is possible to find? Maybe a glass of water and a Taco? What is the cheapest lunch you can think of?

There’s a $5 meal deal at most fast food joints these days.

This. Taco Bell has one that's pretty solid for $5, and a better one for only $7. Also, two burritos and a 32oz Talsup is around $5, I think.

You can but it’s not fit to feed a dog. Much less a human

When we are on the road, my wife always needs to eat lunch because of taking meds. She likes the $5 meal deal at McDonalds where you get a sandwich, small fries and drink.

Beer and whiskey, 'cause you can't drink bacon!!

The café in town has a giant breakfast burrito full of everything for 4.99. The serve it all day too. In the city just junk/fast food.

I try to stay under 15.
I do remember we served a lunch special (meat and two vegy) at Blackeyed Pea for $3.95 in the 80s. Right now I just had a chicken fried steak for 15 before drink tax tip.

Excellent idea as their always great, especially right out of their oven. Actually 3-4 meals there.
