I have 3 really nice, sturdy 10 foot towers that I am wanting to replace the blind on top. i am looking at a octagon that is 6 foot in diameter, but the tower platforms are 7x4. Is it a bad idea to use a 3/4 plywood base and let it hang a foot off of each side? Any other ideas to make this work? Trying to keep the solution under 100 pounds

Doesn’t sound like a problem at all. We have them hang off all the time. I guess it may depend on what the floor is like on the blind. Just pay attention to what you are attaching to, but beyond that the over hang shouldn’t matter. If you are attaching to a real thin or rotten floor then you have an issue regardless of overhang. There aren’t too many blinds I’ve ever had that wouldn’t work on a 4x4 platform.

You could attach your 3/4" plywood to the 4" side of 2 x 4 framing and let that hang off. I assume you want to be able to shoot 360° and have room for more than one person?
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.
