Decided to put together a compilation video for my hunting buddies, but turned out to be more time consuming than I thought so stopped after doing 3 days of hunting. Liking the new video software I am using (Filmora), except trying to blend together clips from different projects sucks compared to my old package (no copy and paste).

Great quail and hun season this year, except the mearns population was bad and the desert birds were already pretty beat up by early January so we last minuted nixed our Az hunt this year was only downer...going next year come hell or high water. Next season could be fantastic in bob country if we get the right rain and avoid a heat wave in July and August.

The two lemon pointers in the video were 7 and my 10 mos old male across the month these two trips happened on, and some light bulbs really started going off these last two trips on holding birds and backing. A buddy borrowed a young little wirehair that needed some work and she was pretty feral on that last trip as you will see, should have flank collared her up but she has a lot of potential too. Enjoy.

7mos old was out of Valley View kennels in OK, and a Russ Randle owned female. Very nice for his age, won’t quit, starting to back nice

That is cool. Great videos. I have never hunted Bob's over dogs. Always found them by stepping in the middle of the coveys.

Nothing better than a natural backer!

That looks like the good ole days. Man I miss it. Too old to mess with dogs at this point in my life. They would probably outlive me. Great video, wish the bids weren't so vulnerable.

I know 68rustbucket. If I didn't think a dog(s) would outlive me and I had a good place within a couple of hours that held birds, I'd get back in it. I just wouldn't feel right about the dog or the people that had to take care of them when I departed. Best hunting sport for me, ever. Nothing compares to watching good dogs work and putting some really good eating on the table as an additional plus. Plus, I guess I'm spoiled from years past. The days of consistently getting on 15-20 coveys are gone unless you're in a special spot.

Great work! We didn't see many coveys this year but enjoyed the time following my Brittany.
