Here in N Tx, Tuesday-Wednesday will be the coldest we’ve had since the last bad freeze a few years ago

Will we have rolling blackouts?

Should’ve made a poll…

I don’t think so. The last one a month or so ago was really cold but for much longer.

Your better make plans for a black out or at least rolling black outs. Windmills won’t work in icy weather. Solar won’t work if the sun isn’t shining.

some people like silver and gold
I like brass and lead with a little powder in between

Solar works great when you have enough battery storage.

Temps are not getting any where close to where it was back in 2021 when we had rolling blackouts. We had were getting down do like -2 on day and 4 degrees and 6 degrees in a row.

This is just a cold snap, I think the cold snap we had in January was worse

New Mexico. The whole state. Condemn it.

Got plenty of propane and fuel for generator. It it happens we're ready.
Shouldn't be too bad as it warms back up during the day.

Battery storage for solar and wind is the missing link in what could be a decent energy source. (Not as good as many other options)

I know some developer tried to install some over west of Sherman, they relied on a disgraced ex judge to help ram rod it, they got taken by him his name isn’t much in the area and I’m sure his name worked against the cause. I also know the fire department sure railed against it because of battery fires and the environmental impact they can cause.

And exactly how many of those would be needed to power the whole state?

Doing my part, got the wood stove going! Central hasn’t come on in four hrs, 70 degrees in house, little warm, but will feel good as temps drop. Will turn wood stove fan on as it gets colder outside. Showing 34 outside with wind chill of 28 by my weather unit I got for Christmas.

That was copy/paste from their dashboard. Current vs Monthly capacity

that is current output. which means price was lower so they were most likely charging.
and you can see it say monthly capacity is 9994 MW that is the installed capacity available this month, this will change as new capacity is installed or units go on long outages
