My youngest son told me he wanted to have kids in his early 20’s so they would have grandparents alive when they were in high school.
I’m 50 and have a 13 and 16 year old. Most parents of the kids my sons play ball with are quite a bit younger than me. Many people my age are grandparents.
How old are you and how old is your youngest child?

Had my first child when I was 42, last one at 44. I was 60 years young when my first child graduated from high school.

40 and my 1 and only child is 6. I feel very young and youthful. If I ever feel like slowing down Colt keeps me even younger. I coach everything he has ever done besides Jiu Jitsu. A lot of the parents on my son’s teams are younger than us but my wife and I blend in we both look very young. If it weren’t for my gray’s in my beard I’d probably look 20 still.

I was a parent at 21 and a grandparent at 53. Now I’m a step-GGP at 77. I think I got the math right. The GD we just married off is planning to start having kids quick, which pleases me.

Many years ago I had a business lunch with a guy that was just about to be a dad again. He was 60. His pregnant secretary was 25. His wife took him to the cleaners for about 25 Mil, he said. He was in that “Oh, my God, what have I done” mood. Had to sell his jet, poor fellow.

Few months shy of 40 and have a 11,17 & 19 year old. He will turn 20 a month before I turn 40.

It’s a little different, as you kinda grow up with your kids as opposed to when you’re older.

Can’t say which way is better, I have friends I went to high school with still having babies. That would be a hard pass for me at this point.

The argument for having kids when you’re older as opposed to your early 20’s is you can concentrate on riskier career moves in your 20’s as opposed to if you have a child. You can also experience more if your child free in theory.

I told my kids don’t have children till your late 20’s early 30’s

45 with an 11 and 9 year old. I wish I’d had kids younger but just wasn’t in the cards for me. I do hope my girls don’t have to wait as long as I or I’ll be too old to spoil them at best.

You got an early start.

We had my oldest when I was 23, my youngest when I was 30. My oldest daughter had our first grandchild her first year out of college. I've enjoyed my grand kids and glad I'm young enough to hunt, fish, ski and enjoy sports with them. My grand parents were ancient and their favorite activity was having us do chores for them.

I’m 38 and have a 6 and 10 year old. If I could go back and meet my wife sooner I’d have had kids sooner. Men I. My family don’t stick around the longest and I’d like to be here for my kids and grands as much as possible someday hopefully!

My wife and I turned 80 last year. Three kids. Our oldest is 58 and our youngest great granddaughter is six. Kids, grandkids and great grandkids are all fun.

40 and he’s 5.

We waited, wanted to be established in our careers and not have to worry about money.

Friend of mine is 64, he has a new born.

One of my best friends was born when his mom was 71 and dad was 89.
