I have several RK blinds in sizes from 4x6 to 6x6 and they are very well built. But the octagon takes away from floor space. I need a new two person blind and trying to decide if I want to buy another RK or go with a 5x7 Atacosa. I've never been in an Atacosa so for those that have been in both, what are your thoughts? I can save around $1000 going with a new Atacosa.
I want long lasting, well built, bug and water proof.

I had an Atascosa 5x7 on a 10’ tower a few years ago. It was a quality blind.

My next new blind will be a 5X7 vs the 4x6’s we have now.

Looked at several stands last Friday. Decided on the 5x7 Texas Wildlife Supply monster blind. Seemed better built than the Atascosa. That Atascosa blind was too noisy for me. Was windy when I looked at it and it was doing some wall popping.

Texas Wildlife Supply IMO is better than the RK or the Atascocita but all three are great blinds. I've hunted and guided out of all 3. The last ranch I guided at for years only had TWS blinds. Quiet, bug free and will last. When I left a few years back the blinds were over 10 years old and the only work we ever did was replace a few window latches and touch up some caulking. If you can swing the money difference in the 3 TWS is what id go with. Good luck. Looked at several stands last Friday. Decided on the 5x7 Texas Wildlife Supply monster blind. I picked up 3 of the TWS 5x5s last year, and was impressed with them. The stair towers at their price point is what made me go that direction in the first place. Can never go wrong with Ranch King, but to get the nice 8ft+ towers, they can get very expensive. We had the atascosa at our previous ranch, and I did like them but they are below those two for sure in my opinion. We have two all seasons little chingons as well and I would put them about even with the atoscosa.

I have an older AWS 5X5 on a ten foot tower and a newer 5X7 on a 12 foot tower. Looked real hard at pretty much everything out there when purchasing last year and came back to where I started. I would make each of those purchases again in a heart beat. I do not like the octagon. For whatever reason, angles alaways get in the way.

Ive never had one but hexagon I love. Round is very similar since mine have 6 equally spaced windows like a hexagon. Square would be next. I dont like rectangle and especially dont like anything with one of the sides being only 4'.

I saved $500 going with the TWS over the Ranch King. I already have 5 Ranch kings and didn't want the octagon in this particular location. Plus the TWS had changed their widows to sliders that you can take out and easily clean from inside the blind.

Stompy, give us a little detail on the anchoring please. They used about a 5' auger with a 4" base and hand screwed it in about 3'. Then they used a 3/8" cable and crisscross the stand with a very large turn buckle to connect. Then they drove 30" rods into the 4 legs. I crisscrossed with a chain and put an older come along on the chain down to a t post that was there from the old stand. I drove that t post down as far as I could. When the ground softens up a bit, I'll drive a t post on each leg and connect with u bolts. Getting that auger that deep was tough. Took 2 of us turning with a 3' bar to get it the last foot.
