November will make 12 years, me owning this land.
I have a pair of geese that stay here, every night until March/ April. 11 years ago, it was the first tractor mowing of spring. The pair was running from the tractor. I wondered why they didn't fly. Then I saw their little fuzzy babies with them.
Am I having generation after generation born here to return?
Last night the pair came in at sun down, between the house and shop, 20 feet off the ground right over my head. They were southbound, banked east, and lit in the pond. I see them land on water every evening. They see me walking around, and I don't bother them. My German Shepherd may run down to them and back, but the geese will just get in the water and look at him. Then he looses interest.
The just left about 5 minutes ago. I am sure they will be back at sun down.

It’s most likely the same breeding pair that you first saw, or at the least the same female. They are probably also local non-migrators, still wild of course. They can live 20+yrs, especially the “local” non-migrating birds.

I used to have a pair that nested every year on/around my pond. I would feed them by hand like chickens. They would see me coming and run over. The neighbor ran them off by shooting while they were trying to nest. Had them for 5 or 6 years then they never came back. If they don't have a reason to leave they will likely nest there on your place from now on.
Edit to add: They are fun to watch and have around, but they are seriously messy.

First its two....then its 40.
I thought they were cool at first. Now not so much.
We came home from vacation once and our entire driveway next to the house was covered in goose poop. The entire thing...you couldn't take a step without stepping in it. All this acreage and they had to camp out there.

I actually see them all the time hunting public, and pass on them, mainly because my dog does not like fetching them.

I have 2 come to our pond every year after the season is over. Last year was the first year they laid eggs. Coons or something got them though. I noticed they - or two others - were back again this year. If they lay eggs again I'm going to try and put up a fence or something so that they can only be accessed by flying or through the water. We'll see.

Thank yall for the replies, and the education.
They won't ever be close to the house and shop. Three dogs will ensure that.
