The big wedding (granddaughter) is this weekend. The wife has done all her personal prep but the hair (Wednesday cut and color), so now I’m in her sights. New coat and pants, belt, shine the shoes, and a nice coordinating tie. I’m not allowed to look like a bum. Been a long time since I had to dress up, and I’m not that happy about it. We still have the shirt argument to have. Feels like Mom has come back to dress me.
I need to do some rebellious thing. Maybe go ‘commando’.
At least they’ll feed me. The poor granddaughter has been starving herself, eating maybe one grape per day. She was skinny to start with. I hope she doesn’t die before the weekend.
All her friends will be there. I call them “the Blondies”. All skinny blonds…
Yeah, maybe Commando…

Just sneak out and buy a pair of REALLY wild and colorful underwear. Put it on when your wife isn't looking. At the end of the day she'll get a surprise, and who knows maybe you'll get lucky.

I too hate it and have avoided it at all costs lately. I guess I’ve turned into a bum  Enjoy the festivities and congrats.

When I retired I had about 50 very nice ties. They all went to Goodwill except for one I kept to go along with the funeral suit I kept. My donation seemed unburdening & symbolic.

Something about weddings that blow women’s fuses. If it is that important to Mrs 603, suck it up and muddle through for her. Happy wife, happy life. New pair of Tony Lamas to go with the new shirt (with pearl snaps) and the new britches would be how I made the wife’s “wedding outfit” my own.
