Is this feeder a winner or a bust? Thank you for comments.

I have a 600# that has been pretty dang good. I spin corn out of mine. No protein, but the mechanism would be fine for protein.
I just had to replace the battery, and aside from that, has been maintenance free. Been in the field at least 5 years i believe, and was bought from someone on here that used it a while before that.

You sure about that? I wouldn't attempt to spin protein from the corn feeder if that's what you're referring to. I have the feeder the OP is asking about. It's been flawless for 3 seasons. I use protein from this timed protein feeder from about mid September until end of November as an attractant. It dumps into the covered perforated tray on a setting I have for right about sun up so the coons have already gone home. Does hit is hard as do bucks.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

I've had mine for at least eight years. I've put straight corn in it. have used antler max protein pellets as well. Now I am feeding a mixture of corn and roasted soy beans. I replaced the battery a couple of years ago just to be safe. No trouble at all so far. It feeds two seconds twice a day year-round. I might bump it up during hunting season to five and five.

Ive had mine for 2 years. Only problem I had was the feeder spinner getting stuck because I had the timer set too long and it would feed more protein and the tray was full. I since turned it down to 1 second spin and have had no issues.

I have the 1000# protein and have filled it with protein and corn for the last 3 years with no problem. my question is that I am preparing to purchase another one for a ridge that is under tree coverage. will the solar work or will it be all battery?
